I am thrilled to announce that I have accepted a position as Senior Lecturer at the University of Akron and will begin this fall as the trombone professor!
This May I head to the International Women's Brass Conference. While there, I will be premiering a newly commissioned piece by Kim Osberg for unaccompanied trombone on a New Works Recital. Calypsus Brass was also invited to play a full recital and I will be performing chamber music on guest artist Theresa May's recital as well as a shared recital with Nikki Abissi and Andrea Neumann.
Calypsus Brass is a featured ensemble in the Powerful Women in Music Festival and in March 2021, we head to Louisiana to perform!
In March 2021 Calypsus Brass heads to McNeese State University for a Residency! With the other members, I will be giving multiple masterclasses, performing a recital, teaching and coaching students and ensembles, giving a pedagogical lecture, and recording with Calypsus!
In early March, Calypsus will be joining the students of the University of Northern Iowa for a Chamber Music Coaching
On August 20, I will be performing in a Benefit Concert supporting the Lift Music Fund, an organization whose mission is "to make achievement in music more accessible and equitable. Lift Music Fund helps underrepresented students overcome the barriers, financial and otherwise, to pursuing a career in music,."
I had a wonderful time performing as an artist with the International Women's Trombone Choir at the International Trombone Festival in Columbus, GA. Thank you to all involved for a great week!
This July, I head to the International Trombone Festival where I will be a member of the inaugural International Women's Trombone Choir! I will also be giving two presentations. The Virtual Trombone Workshop partnered with the Eastman School of Music in January 2021 to host a fantastic event. I am so excited to see the growth of this program that I founded in the summer of 2020.
